Sunspace Sunrooms - Awesome product if you buy / hire a quality dealer.
I read the reviews and find it so sad that bad contractors reflect poorly on such a great product!! Sunspace windows, WHEN INSTALLED properly, are tight, operate seamlessly and keep the wind rain and pollen outside where it belongs. I know because our family personally has installed four different rooms in Four different houses. All are awesome. With any building material product .. they are only as quality as the people that install them. Find a Sunspace dealer that is kind, reliable, Ethical, well Trained, has character and believes in customer Service and you will not be disappointed!!

Product quality good, CT installer poor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
CT installer promised to take care of any problems associated with product or installation. After 1 week, I noticed that the largest bank of windows was installed on wood that was rotted. The problem was extensive and they failed to notify me of the problem. They could not have missed the issue during installation. All they wanted was the money. I had to have the entire window system removed and reinstalled at my expense. They refused to acknowledge what they did. In fact, they were vague and very hard to reach. After reinstalling, they charged me $60 to install the screen. I'd recommend EZ-Screen instead of Sunspace. Same quality, better price, and better customer Service. I used them on 2 new projects for my daughters. Top notch product and an honest company. Local installer was not honest with me.

Would you say these reviews are the install problems. Haven't seen where windows are the problem.

Product ok - distributor/installer terrible

Do yourself a favor and skip Sunspace. Local distributor/installer has been worthless. No after sales support despite promises. Recommend EZ Screen instead. I used this product on 2 projects at my daughters house. Same quality as Sunspace and cheaper. Installation can be diy or by any competent carpenter.

My Sunsetter Plastic Window System Continues to just fall down.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had these windows (joke) for about a year now. Besides the nasty contractor, the windows just fall down. I go out every day and adjust them so that they will stay closed. This is a complete failure in my opinion of the system. I have had no response from Sunspace. I heat and cool this room so energy loss is a big complaint also.

User's recommendation: Do not buy these, invest in regular glass system windows. That is what I am doing next.

Poor service and I lost $$$$$

Updated by user May 06, 2022

After 18 months of no service and poor product they removed the product. Now I'm fighting for a refund of $3,666 of my deposit.

Original review May 05, 2022
I ordered product through an authorized dealer. After 18 months of no service, poor product quality they removed everything. I'm still trying to get my deposit money refunded. Poor measurements, NO customer service and every excuse in the books for delays. I would stay away from this company and buy American.

Original review Dec 13, 2021

I would like to point out that I was told when I ordered the addition, in October 2020, that my Sunspace room was to be built in the middle of May 2021. That date was pushed back 3 times (with no word from anyone at Sunspace to me), and not started till June 9.

It was supposed to be completed in 2 days but was not. The room was left without the divider wall and with doors in place but not installed on the tracks. I could not get in when I arrived at 9:00 that night. The installers did not come back the next day, a Friday, as they were scheduled to be somewhere else.

So I had to wait until Monday for completion. Then, when I went to lock the doors that night I discovered the locks would not work. Apparently, no one tested either door. I was told I had to wait a week for them to be fixed and it took intervention by the General Manager at the resort to get that moved up.

I was less than happy, to say the least.

On May 22 I had ordered custom blinds for my Sunspace room.

On Jun 9, 18 days later, I was told it would be another 3 weeks.

On June 17, after being told Id have to wait another week for my locks and keys to be fixed, I wrote to my sales rep:

I will pay for the blinds because I assume they are already being manufactured, considering I was told by you they would have been done by now.

Because of the less-than-satisfactory service I had received on my addition, I cancelled the order I had recently made for railings for my deck.

This would have been a good time for SOMEONE at Sunspace to let me know that my blinds were no where near being manufactured, as illustrated in the emails below.

Hi Geoff, Do we have an install date for the blinds yet? Regards, Connie

Geoff forwarded my email to Jackie On Jul 5, 2021, at 3:16 PM,

Jackie wrote: Hello Hi Your blind order is saying they will arrive the week of August 2nd..I will let you know when they arrive and well confirm an install date. Thanks

Please note, the ONLY times I got information from Sunspace is when I initiated contact. Each time my scheduled date arrive, and passed, no one told me.

I had to contact them.

So, to recap, I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction at the (lack of) service by Sunspace on June 17, cancelling my recent order for railings but stating I would continue with the order for blinds that I had been told would be installed soon. Two weeks later I was informed it would be at least another month.

Sent: Monday, August 2, 2021 10:37 PM To: Jackie Subject: Re: Blinds brochure and price list Hello Jackie, Have my blinds arrived? Regards, Connie

At this point I received an automated message that Jackie was on holidays. Did she not know that when she wrote me on July 5?

I am sure that if I HAD cancelled on July 5 and ordered blinds elsewhere, they would have been up long before the date that the installer showed up.

I ended up waiting 3 months for blinds that I was quoted would take 3 weeks.

After the month long fight to get my room installed, waiting 3 months for blinds is frustrating, but the lack of contact by anyone at Sunspace every time is unimaginable. I have been told that 2 other owners here at Woodland Estates had no troubles with their room additions. The total lack of communication about ANY of the multiple setbacks is completely unprofessional.

I never received a written official quote for the blinds.

Geoff just told me it would be about $3,000, which is what the invoice is asking for.

I paid the invoice for the addition the minute the installer showed up with my blinds. Before I pay anything more, I would like to know what you are going to do to for me to make up for this extremely unbusiness- like behaviour?

User's recommendation: Do not deal with this company. I did not do any checking about them because the resort where I have my cottage ONLY allows this one supplier to do additions. I have since checked reviews and so many people have written about their complete lack of customer service. Their rating seems to usually be a 2 out of 5.

Three years and working perfectly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Had a screened in porch that was not usable due to rain coming in. Got the WeatherMaster 3 panel system. 8 panels sized 56 tall, 56 wide. The porch is now usable about 10 months a year. Central Ohio dealer must be better than most since ours work flawlessly, no bugs, and no matter how much blowing rain there is every square inch is dry and usable. Regularly open the top down in summer with fan on to keep it comfortable. I'm in the process of building a custom home and will be using the same thing for an enclosed area under our deck. Others must have poor installers. We love ours

Roof leaks in multiple spots, door does not fit probably can see daylight top, bottom, sides and middle and you have to slam it to close. Think it is a combination of contractor and the product. Not happy at all it has been 5 months and it is not close to being done

Excellent Customer Service

We ordered several windows and when they arrived a couple didn't fit properly. We called Brandon (twin cities) and discussed the issue. Within a few weeks we had replacements windows which fit perfectly. It is far and few companies that genuinely care about their customer and service. We just built a new home and Sunspace has come through for us!

Poor insulation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
looks are deceiving. Brochures look like a fabulous room. We ordered a four season room that we will never ever be able to use. Hardest room to heat ever. no insulation whatsoever even though they say it is.! Our journey with sunspace in Columbus Ohio has been a nightmare from the beginning. We signed contract end of April with them telling us they would be installed middle of July. Never heard from sunspace until we made several phone calls. They had our money... But we were on their time...our vacation was put on hold because we were waiting waiting waiting for them to show up. Finally got them here and installed the sun rooms end of October part of November. they actually have one qualified installer that knows what he's doing and he is an awesome worker, but you can't work miracles with an inferior product..so lesson learned. We pay for a four season room that is actually only a two season room. Buyer beware!!!

Can't expect these systems to have any insulating capability. Obviously not designed for that. Better choice is low e window enclosure...

Not happy with Sunspace

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I regretfully purchased the WeatherMaster 4-track window system by Sunspace ten months ago. In the Spring, I started getting all kinds of bugs in the enclosure because the installer failed to caulk.

The windows have never opened more than ½ way – not even close to the 75% ventilation they advertise. Countless email to Sunspace, both locally and to their home office, has resulted in no action on their part. I am even willing to adjust them myself but Sunspace won’t provide instructions. Clearly, customer service and support after the sale is not important.

HORRIBLE WINDOWS AND A HORRIBLE COMPANY!!

I love the windows! The dealer in Woodruff, WI is awesome!

The dealer is Leisure City.

Great customer service and product! My neighbor bought them after he saw mine and also loves them.

This is an update to my review. Now that I’ve had the windows for a few years, I do believe my issues were with the company who installed the windows rather than the windows themselves.

Through a social media site, I was able to connect with a contractor who did work for the local SunSpace. He came out to look that windows and confirmed that the windows were too tight (measurements were off) but suggested that I use soap on the left side of the window to add lubrication. This did make a difference. The panes still do not move like the videos but at least I am able to get more ventilation.

We caulked ourselves, helping with the bug issue.Do I like the windows themselves? Yes, I do. We get a lot more use out of the porch and are able to sit out there comfortably on sunny days with snow on the ground.Would I purchase them again? Nope!!

The local SunSpace office does not respond to questions or honor their warranty. Reading recent reviews on Angie’s List, my experience is not unusual.

SunSpace is all about the sale but customer service after the sale is non-existent.One major concern about the windows is that I am unable to locate any information regarding the maintenance, cleaning, etc. Can anyone point me to a good site with this information?

Guest

Never heard of such a problem. Must be the installer, windows are the best on the market!

Guest

Where are you located? Who did you directly buy them from?

I've been a large dealer for over 17 years and have never had any issues with the products, with more than 200 authorized dealers in North America which all sell to home owners and small contractors for their projects things can happen beyond Sunspaces control so while i understand your frustration your painting your complaint with a very large brush. There is nothing wrong with the product its the #1 window of its kind on the market but it sounds like you had a poorly trained installer which ruined your experience and if I can put you in contact with someone that can help you I will
